The album contains songs inspired by paintings, stories and dreams. The music flows from intimate classical guitar and piano melodies to more dramatic symphonic rock eruptions.
There is a song-cycle inspired by the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. Alas I wasn't alowed to use the original poems, but Anna came up with beautiful replacing words.
A RETROSPECT/TOWARDS THE UNKNOWN is insipred by the painting De Marskramer by Jeroen Bosch.

"This album is a delicacy that you should taste with your eyes closed, in subdued light, in evenings, being in a poetic mood."
~ Jean-Luc Piérard (Prog-résiste)

"... In addition, there is much room for woolly sounding keyboards, which make you feel listening to an intimate gem from the seventies...."
~ René Yedema (iO Pages)

"In 'The Path' Peter Swart shows to be a fine musician and composer, his genes steeped with the history of symphonic rock music."
~ Harry de Vries (OJE Music)

"... and in which a floating electric guitar evokes a beautiful Genesis-like atmosphere. All these elements make The Path to a beautiful type Lo-Fi Sympho."
~ René Yedema (iO Pages)

Often my way of playing the classical guitar is compared to that of Anthony Phillips. I once had the oppotunity of playing ALONG FLOWING WATERS for him in his studio, on his guitar! He said he liked it and I hope he was not just being polite...
